DST will bring surfers to the best, and most scenic surf spots all around the Dominican Republic. With over 15 years of surfing the DR, Brandon has intimate knowledge of breaks and when and where the best waves are, this guarantees guests the best available conditions. Trips will be custom tailored to surfers ability level.

Brandon Sanford (owner/operator) CPR, AED & First Aid certified. Grew up on the north coast of Dominican Republic and is multiple time national surf champion, Volcom team rider, and a well known local and international surfer. We are based in Cabarete, on the north coast of the dominican republic, 20 minutes from puerto plata international airport (POP). Cabarete is in the center of the most surf rich and consistent area with access to many different waves and is ten minutes from Playa Encuentro, the DR’s most consistent spot. By its geographical location, cabarete provides world class waves, and also world class conditions for Kitesurfing and windsurfing. Cabarete is the center of north coast tourism, it is safe, affordable and is loaded with great restaurants, bars and modern tourism infrastructure, Cabarete also has supermarkets, and modern health care facilities.

The airports to fly into for a Dominican Surf Trip are:

– Puerto Plata ( airport code POP) 20 minutes away from Cabarete.
– Santiago ( airport code STI) 1,30 hours away from the north coast surfing spots of the DR
– Santo Domingo (airport code SDQ) 4 hours, easy taxi ride away from the North coast.
– Samana airport ( airport code AZS) 3 hours away, charter flights from mainly France and italy.
– Punta Cana ( airport code PUJ) Not recommended, it’s a 6-7 hours, expensive taxi ride.
